Swiss Soprano Regula Mühlemann has established herself as one of the acclaimed singers of her generation: not only is she a member of the re-built and historic Mozart ensemble, and can be heard twice in the 21/22 season at the Vienna State Opera: Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), but further returns to the Mozartwoche Salzburg for concert performances of Il re pastore with Rolando Villazón in the lead role. The young soprano gives her role debut as Ilia (Idomeneo) with the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock. With the Teatro Maggio Musicale Florence Regula Mühlemann sings guest performances as Adele (Die Fledermaus) under the baton of Zubin Mehta and returns to the Vienna State Opera in their famous New Year’s Eve gala that was streamed online world wide and was received with huge attention. The exciting role of Susanna takes Regula Mühlemann to the Berlin State Opera’s festival with performances under the musical leadership of Daniel Barenboim. On the concert stage, the Swiss soprano is a very sought-after artist: she sings Haydn’s The Creation in Cologne’s cathedral, Bach’s St. John Passion with the Mihai Constantinescu Festival Bucharest alongside the Bachchor Munich and Mozart arias in Ascona. Regula Mühlemann tours Mozart’s Great Mass in c-minor with the Collegium Vocale Ghent under the baton of Philippe Herreweghe, sings Bach’s St Matthew Passion with the Gewandhaus Leipzig, sings concerts with the programme of her upcoming album “Fairy Tales”, as well as recitals at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg and in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie. In Switzerland the soprano can also be heard with her “Cleopatra” program with La Folia Barock Orchestra and she gives a concert under the baton of Umberto Michelangelo Benedetti in Italy.

Performances as Pamina with the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna State Opera and the Theatre Basle, a tour in Spain with Brahms‘ A German Requiem under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock, a tour with the Mozart II programme as well as recitals in Switzerland and the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In February 2020 Regula Mühlemann made her house and role debut at the Vienna State Opera as Adina in Otto Schenk’s legendary production of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. In past seasons, the young soprano sang Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at Theatre Lucerne, as well as the role of Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milano, with Franz Welser-Möst conducting. She gave guest performances as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at the Teatro Regio in Turin, sang Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) with Teatro San Carlo in Naples and Rosina in Mozart’s La finta semplice at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. She also sang Serpetta in Hans Neuenfels’ new production of la finta giardiniera at the State Opera Berlin, Isolier in Rossini’s Le Comte Ory opposite Ceclia Bartoli at the Theater an der Wien as well as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) with the Grand Théâtre de Genève (2018) and the Zurich Opera in 2019.  In summer 2021 she took over very short notice the role of Bellezza in Händel’s oratorio Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno, alsongside Cecilia Bartoli with enormous success at the Salzburg Festival.

Bresciaoggi - IL GRANDE si accende con Mozart (concerto del 26.01.2017)

....Lucio Silla pezzo di un giovanissimo Mozart che ha visto la prima apparizione in scena del soprano Regula Mühlemann, lungo vestito rosso a pieghe e un'eleganza pari alla bellezza. Una voce davvero speciale, quella del soprano svizzero, pieno di grandi possibilità nel campo dell'estensione come ha subito dimostrato nell'Aria "Strider sento la procella" con la seconda parte tutta improntata ai virtuosismi vocali tipici del Settecento operistico. Bravissima la Mühlemann anche negli altri brani dalla penosa "Geme la Tortorella" e soprattutto nell'aria "Voi avete un cor fedele" anche qui con una parte impervia ma nella quale la cantante ha dimostrato una decisa padronanza della scena e nell'espressione dei sentimenti. Il pubblico è rimasto letteralmente incantato da questa bellissima voce che sgorgava con stupenda facilità. Molto bella anche la seconda parte, il duetto con l'oboe in "Vorrei spiegarvi oh Dio", grandi apprezzamenti e applausi per questa cantante così brava.....
