Austrian soprano Elisabeth Breuer studied singing with Elisabeth Batrice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
In the 2016/17 season Elisabeth Breuer is performing at the Trigonale, where she appears in concerts with the Miszla Baroque Orchestra and The Rose Consort of Viols. Together with the Dresdner Kreuzchor and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin she sings Bach's Mass in B Minor at the Bachfest Dresden. In October Elisabeth appears for the first time at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari as Donna Fulvia in Rossini's "La pietra del paragone" followed by her house debut at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples with "Der Zwerg" by Alexander Zemlinsky. Engagements take her also to Switzerland and France, where she performs Bach's Johannespassion. Furthermore she is invited to Magdeburg and the Gewandhaus Leipzig , where she is giving her debut with the MDR Symphony Orchestra, singing Mozart's Mass in C Minor. Elisabeth Breuer also returns to the Brucknerhaus Linz to sing the 4. Symphony by Balduin Sulzer together with the Bruckner Orchester Linz under the direction of Dennis Russell Davies.
From 2009 to 2016 the artist was a member of the Landestheater Linz where she could acquire a rich repertory in opera and operetta. Important roles in Linz have been Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Norina (Don Pasquale), Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites), Despina (Così fan tutte), Anne Frank (Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank), Adele (Die Fledermaus) or the soprano part in the dance production of "Carmina burana".
In Linz she has appeared on stage furthermore as Amour and Clarine (Platée), Bellezza (Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno), Waldvogel (Siegfried), Young Vixen and Rooster (The cunning little vixen), Frasquita (Carmen), Musetta (La Bohème), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Emmie (Albert Herring), Valencienne (Die lustige Witwe), Stasi (Die Csárdásfürstin), Lisa (Gräfin Mariza), Amirah (Die arabische Prinzessin), Schlafittchen (Das Traumfresserchen), Marie (Lynx, der Luchs), Andi (Die Omama im Apfelbaum) and Minnie Faye (Hello, Dolly). She sang Clara in "Kaspar H." by the well known Austrian composer Balduin Sulzer and appeared in the world premieres of "Spuren der Verirrten" by Philip Glass and in "Terra Nova oder Das weiße Leben", composed by Moritz Eggert.
Guest engagements have taken Elisabeth Breuer to the Teatro Cervantes de Málaga, where she performed as Carmi and Cabri in Mozart’s “La Betulia liberata“. She sang at the Wiener Schauspielhaus (Julia in “Romeo+/-Julia“), the Parktheater Augsburg (Franzi in “Wiener Blut“), the Montafoner Sommer (Karoline in “Das rote Käppchen“), the Musiktheater Schönbrunn (Christel in “Der Vogelhändler“) and Opera da Camera in Upper Austria (Yam Yam in “The Mikado“).
As a versatile concert singer she appeared with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Concentus Musicus Wien, the Bruckner Orchester Linz, the L'Orfeo Barockorchester, the Ensemble Zefiro or the Wiener Concert-Verein. She performed at the Styriarte, the Trigonale, the Attersee Klassik, the Donaufestwochen, the Sunnmøre Kammermusikkfestival, or at the Festival de Carcassonne.
In 2013 Elisabeth Breuer was nominated the Österreichische Musiktheaterpreis for her performance of Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites). In 2014 she has been awarded the Jungensemblepreis of the
Music Theatre Linz and recently the visitors of the Linzer Landestheater elected her as their "Darling of the public 2015/16" wherefore she received the Richard Tauber Medal.
